This is the third photo for my Milky Way Over Colorado project. The cabin shown is a famous cabin amongst photographers due to its location in the San Juan mountain range, and is a major hot spot for photographers chasing fall colors. My original plan for this shot was to have the same composition that this cabin is normally captured, but upon arrival I realised the Milky Way was in the wrong spot. Luckily I managed to find some beautiful wildflowers and instead captured this cabin in a different way that I have not seen before. This is a natural composite image, meaning these are two different photos (one for the sky and one for the landscape), and they are aligned as they would be in nature.
For every print ordered, 5% of purchase price will go to Dark Sky Colorado to help protect our night sky, and another 5% will go towards the Colorado Wildlife Foundation to help protect the Colorado wilderness.
