My name is Jacob VanOpdorp, and I’m an outdoor/adventure photographer based in Denver, Colorado. I’ve always been drawn towards the camera, but didn’t find my true passion for photography until the first lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic. I started taking photos with my old Sony A6000 around my neighborhood and found what I wanted to do as my career. After a few months of shooting I decided to switch from Sony to Canon.

I love to shoot all forms of photography, but am the happiest when shooting in nature or while on an adventure. My biggest ambition as an adventure photographer is to tell the story of athletes through imagery. To capture their determination, blood, sweat, tears, and all of the small moments in between that tell an amazing story. I hope to inspire others to get out, explore, and protect these amazing places through my photographs.

One of my favorite parts about photography is that it allows me to visually track my progress. There will always be improvements that can be made both technically, and artistically. There will always be room for improvement in this field and that is what pushes me to keep shooting and telling stories.
